Bajaj Auto unveils new motorbike
BANGALORE: Auto major Bajaj Auto on Tuesday unveiled its new motorbike “XCD 125 DTS-Si” with a Digital Twin Spark Swirl Induction engine, aiming to upgrade 100 cc customers.
‘XCD 125 DTS-Si’ (pronounced Exceed 125 DTS-Si) combines 150 cc features, 125 cc performance and 100 cc mileage and comes with features including a digital speedometer and a LED (Light Emitting Diode) tail lamp.
At 109 kmpl, the XCD 125 DTS-Si offers fuel-efficiency which has been achieved through Digital Twin Spark Swirl Induction technology, National Sales Manager Vimal Sumbly told a news conference announcing its launch in Karnataka.
“Bajaj expects customers to move up from the traditional 100 cc products to this superior product,” he said.
The XCD 125 DTS-Si will be produced at the firm’s Waluj (Aurangabad) plant initially. Subsequently, the company plans to roll out part of the production from the new Pantnagar plant. The targeted sales is 20,000 units in September and 50,000 units by November.
Though the firm’s market share in the motorcycle segment is 35 per cent, Bajaj Auto’s contribution to the growth in the industry in the last two years has been 52 per cent, Sumbly said.
